One of the last sections of story #1 I wrote, I realized I was forgetting names. I wanted to make sure I was keeping the characters straight and if you’re having issues as well…here’s a list. The format of the story on this blog isn’t like reading a book–it’s in fragments.
Hopefully this helps keep them all straight!
Main Characters:
Beth: main character, teacher, late bloomer, aspiring activist
Alec: main character’s husband, handy, taking over family farm
Supporting Characters:
George: Alec’s dad
Irene: Alec’s mom
Townies:
Noah Gunderson: man who George hired to work his farm, good man, but sides with his family
The Gunderson boys: suspected to be using the farmhouse without permission
Ben Gunderson: made fun of the González kid in high school
Pedro González: got into a fight with Ben Gunderson and was also beat up by Tim Busey (although the town doesn’t know it for a fact)
Nick Busey: Mr. Busey’s son; picks up Beth from the ditch with Noah
Elementary School:
Mr. Busey: the principal, often sides with parents; has problematic views on bullying
Ellie Dixon: (post 16) one of Beth’s students; mom complained about book with a stepmom
Timothy Gunderson: one of Beth’s students; his dad called (post 16) to complain about a book
Anna Nelson: Beth’s teaching partner, married to Steve Nelson
